Software Development

ERP & Business Software

Connect departments, automate workflows and centralize business data across your organization.

Definition

What is an ERP system?

An ERP system is integrated software that manages a company's core business processes — finance, inventory, human resources and daily operations — inside one connected platform instead of separate tools. It keeps shared data consistent across departments so every team works from the same numbers.

An ERP is only as good as the processes it reflects. When finance, inventory and HR read one source of truth, decisions get faster and reporting stops depending on manual reconciliation between tools.

Overview

Why do growing companies outgrow spreadsheets and disconnected tools?

Enterprise Resource Planning and business management software connect finance, inventory, HR, sales and operations into a single system. Instead of reconciling numbers between tools, every department reads and writes the same records in real time. The result is fewer data silos, less manual re-keying, a faster month-end close and dashboards leadership can actually trust.

Nexoraft builds modular ERP and business platforms tailored to your organizational structure — start with one department and expand when you're ready. For department-specific tools, also see CRM development, our business management solution, and how we deliver projects.

Cost

How much does ERP development cost?

ERP budgets are driven by scope, not by a fixed price list. The five factors below decide most of what an implementation costs:

  • Modules selected — Each module — finance, inventory, HR, procurement, sales — is its own set of screens, rules and reports. One module ships far faster than five, and modules can be added later.
  • Department count — More departments means more roles, permissions, approval chains and training surfaces. A single-team rollout is a different project than a company-wide one.
  • Data migration from legacy systems — Data trapped in spreadsheets, old databases or retired tools needs profiling, cleaning, mapping and trial imports. Messier source data means more migration effort.
  • Customization depth — Standard flows built on proven patterns cost less than bespoke approval chains, unusual valuation rules or industry-specific compliance logic.
  • Rollout and training needs — Phased go-lives, role-based training material, super-user programs and post-launch hypercare all add time — and reduce the risk of failed adoption.

Our Approach

How do we deliver an ERP implementation?

01

Process Audit

We audit your current departmental processes, data flows and integration points.

02

Module Design

We design each module to fit your organizational structure and reporting needs.

03

Phased Development

We build and deploy modules incrementally to minimize disruption.

04

Integration & Training

We connect all modules, migrate data and train your teams.

Stack Rationale

Why this technology stack?

We choose boring, proven technology so your ERP can run for years without becoming a maintenance liability.

Laravel & PHP

Modular architecture, queues and a mature ecosystem fit long-running ERP work like reports and imports — with a deep hiring pool for a system you will maintain for years.

MySQL / PostgreSQL

Ledgers, stock movements and payroll are strongly relational. Transactional integrity matters when balances must reconcile and numbers must never drift between modules.

Vue.js

Reactive data tables and dashboards stay responsive as record counts grow, without full page reloads on the screens your teams use all day.

Redis

Caching and queued jobs keep heavy reports, imports and scheduled tasks from slowing down day-to-day operations.

FAQ

Common questions about ERP & business software

Should we build a custom ERP or use Odoo or SAP?
Off-the-shelf platforms suit standard processes and fast starts, but they charge per module or per user and force your workflows to match theirs. A custom ERP costs more upfront and pays back when your processes are unusual, you need deep integration with existing tools, or licence fees would outgrow a break-even point. Many clients start custom with one or two modules.
Can we roll out the ERP one module at a time?
Yes, and phased rollout is usually the lower-risk path. We scope a phase-one module such as finance or inventory, launch it with a single department, then add HR, procurement and sales modules once the foundation is stable. Each phase reuses the same data model, roles and reporting layer, so expansion is incremental rather than a rebuild.
How long does an ERP implementation take?
A single-module deployment for one department typically runs 8 to 14 weeks. A multi-department ERP with data migration, custom approval chains and integrations usually takes 4 to 8 months, delivered in phases so each can go live independently. Discovery produces a phased timeline before build work starts.
Can you migrate data from our legacy systems?
Yes. Migration scope drives a large share of the work: we profile source data in spreadsheets, old databases or retired software, map and clean it, then run trial imports before final cutover. Historical transactions, master data and open orders are handled differently, and the legacy system stays readable until you sign off.
How much user training do teams need?
Training effort depends on how many roles touch the system and how far processes change. A single-department rollout usually needs a few guided sessions per role plus quick-reference guides. Company-wide ERPs benefit from role-based training, a super-user champion per department and a short hypercare period after each go-live where questions are answered daily.
